Temp (River): Average of 20ºC – 24ºC
Water Clarity: Murky in the river section due to influx of water from upstream, a bit clearer towards the main Dam.

Water Level: 79.33%
​
Rainfall: 163.5mm
​
Fishing Area: From Mpalane Bay, Crocodile Bay towards the railway bridge, in front of Nkwazi Lake Lodge, Pump Station, the bay as you pass the KZN Wildlife campsites, Elephant Bay in 2 - 8m of water and towards the mouth of the river where it enters the main Dam.

Other Conditions: The Dam level has risen nicely since the last report dur to the good rains received in the catchment, and this is expected to continue with more rain predicted.
​
Average Size: Tiger Fish caught during the month ranged from 1kg – 3.5kg. The largest one of 3.5kg was caught on sardine.
​
Total Tiger Fish: An average of 710 Tiger Fish were caught off the Pongola Game Reserve boats. Sardines, chicken livers and hearts as well as spinners worked well.
​
Barbel: Barbel, as well as Silver Catfish, were also caught while fishing for Tiger Fish, using sardine and chicken livers and hearts.
